Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated, tech-savvy Field Service Technician to join our growing team. This hands-on role involves completing service work orders, installing and configuring a wide range of technology systems, conducting site surveys, and supporting commercial technology projects. The ideal candidate is comfortable with travel throughout Oregon, though most work is focused locally or within the region and typically does not require overnight stays. They enjoy problem-solving and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain technical equipment and systems at client sites.
  • Conduct site surveys to assess client needs and determine optimal placement for technology installations, including WiFi coverage and performance.
    • Install, configure, and maintain: Security camera systems, IP phone systems, WiFi systems (including access points and wireless controllers), TVs and other audio/visual (A/V) equipment.
  • Utilize tools such as PUTTY, SSH, and other networking/configuration utilities to set up, troubleshoot, and maintain network devices and systems.
  • Provide exceptional on-site and remote support, ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections to ensure system reliability.
  • Accurately document service activities, installation reports, and maintenance records.
  • Occasionally assist with project logistics, including delivering electrical supplies, supporting job estimating, and other duties as assigned.
  • Work closely with other technicians, project managers, and office staff to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Follow company procedures, safety protocols, and industry best practices at all times.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. CompTIA A+ and/or Network+ certification preferred.
  • 1–3 years of experience in technical support, IT, or field service roles.
  • Strong understanding of networking, IP-based systems, and basic electronics. Experience with security cameras, IP phones, WiFi systems, TVs, and other A/V equipment. Proficiency with PUTTY, SSH, and other networking/configuration tools.
  • Must be handy with tools and familiar with basic construction techniques (mounting hardware, running cables, minor wall modifications).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused mindset.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to travel to various job sites, including remote locations hours away from the office.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to lift and carry equipment (up to 50 lbs), climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.

Pay:

  • Hourly
